Our Philosophy

We believe well prepared, well supported, healthy mums can birth babies gently without routine obstetric interventions. We have created an environment that supports our philosophy of welcoming babies in calm and peaceful surroundings.

We provide up-to-date, evidence-based information to enable parents to make informed choices; prompting them to take responsibility and become active participants in their care.

We believe birth is a normal 'everyday' family event and belongs to families, and it is our foremost intention to provide the best pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum experience possible! We are normal birth specialists, and collaborate with appropriate medical personnel as needed.

We follow six care practices which are supported by research studies that examine the benefits and risks of maternity care practices. Therefore, they represent “evidence-based care,” which is the gold standard for maternity care worldwide. Evidence-based care means “using the best research about the effects of specific procedures, drugs, tests, and treatments, to help guide decision-making.”
